Mosquera and Yarek nominated for 2024 Futbol Draft Awards

The graduates from the VCF Academy are recognised in Spanish football long list
Valencia CF defenders Cristhian Mosquera and Yarek Gasiorowski have been nominated for the 2024 Futbol Draft Awards, which recognise the best young Spanish players.

In this first cut of 77 players, in addition to the first team players, 4 players from the VCF Academy are also nominated for these awards: David Otorbi, Raúl Jiménez, Vicent Abril and Iker Córdoba.
Participating in the Futbol Draft Technical Committee were Javier Lasagabaster (General Director of Futbol Draft), Francis Hernández (Coordinator of the lower categories of the Spanish National Team), Vicente Blanco (Deputy to the coordinator of the lower categories of the Spanish National Team), Santi Denia (Spanish Under-21 Coach), José Lana (Spanish Under-19 and Under-18 Coach), Hernán Pérez (Spanish Under-17 Coach), Markel Zubizarreta (RFEF Women's Football Director), Ignacio Silván (Football Expert de Cantera) and José María Movilla (Director of Institutional Relations of AFE).

Mosquera has also been included in the list of nominees for the Golden Boy - an award that distinguishes the best Under-21 players in Europe. During this season he has been central defender under the age of 19 with the most minutes played in the 5 major leagues (LALIGA, Premier League, Ligue 1, Serie A and Bundesliga), and has started every league game since Matchday 8 in 2023-24. In the month of March, he debuted with the Spanish Under-21 Team.

Yarek spent 13 seasons training at the VCF Academy, and made his debut with the first team this season. He has previously challenged for promotion to Primera Federación with VCF Mestalla, and is one of the cornerstones of the Spanish Under-19 Team.
Futbol Draft has been rewarding young talents from Spanish football since 2006. Players with history at Valencia CF such as David Silva, Juan Mata and Ferran Torres have received the Futbol Draft award.
